In the winter of 1999 Ground-Ups was birthed into the cold but forgiving Bloomington music scene. The two drummers (Jeremy Kennedy & Shane Edge) along with original trumpet/cornet player (Chris Clavin) brought hardcore fake jazz, noise and senseless lyrical content out of their basement and into the basements of others. We are proud to present an artifact of that era of Ground-Ups in the "OH! it bites me" cassette. Since then it has been this group's mission to confuse and torment anyone in its path.
Success still shines bright 5 years later as the Ground-Ups see a change in line up with Eric Weddle (Unstable Ensemble, John Wilkes Booze) taking over the horned responsibility with saxophone and electric trumpet. It still all boils down to fun songs and improvised chopping at an always fast and furious intensity.
